illustration Uptaking a mobile data solution: user adoption is the biggest obstacle businesses face when implementing a mobile data solution. This concerns not only the end users, but also the IT manager who needs administration tools that make work slick and easy.

If user-friendliness not been the focus during the analysis and development stages, then the mobile solution may end up just money down the drain.

At Penbase, we evaluate the success of a mobile solution according to its User Adoption Rate (UAR). To achieve the highest rate, it is mandatory to have the user involved from the start in defining the solution.

With Dalyo, Penbase has pushed this fundamental principle to the extreme: all the necessary tools without exception are available on the internet (mobile applications designer, data base structures import tool, application manager as well as account manager), so that the mobile solution provider and even the end user can run their own solution from defining to deploying, without needing any help whatsoever.

BulletAlways available Line

Any place, any time is the leitmotiv for all mobile data solutions: gaining access to mission-criticial data wherever you are is basis of mobile computing. But what happens when network coverage is lost ?

Any how is the extra dimension Penbase adds to its solutions: at the heart of all Penbase applications, a relational database engine combining extremely high processing power and a tiny footprint ensures that you are always able to access, process and update data locally on the mobile device no matter what the network conditions are.

The ability to process data online or offline (known as partially connected mode) means that data updates operated in the field are saved on the device when network coverage is lost. When the network conditions allow it, the mobile application connects to the data source and synchronizes.

On the mobile device, further to ensuring data integrity by preserving data locally until synchronization is fully accomplished, should a device be lost or stolen, the Administrator is able to banish the user account and send a "kill pill" that will erase all application data on the device.

Server-side, mobile data and user accounts are hosted on a Linux system that is secured behind firewalls and mirrored to ensure that your data is always secure and available.

Data transactions between the mobile device and the server are encrypted via SSL (Secure Socket Layer) using 128-bit encryption. This also applies to connections to the server administration interface.

BulletFlexibilityLine

Full scalability and easy integration are ensured by the use of standard XML and Java-based technology both client and server side. Whatever the legacy system you wish to synchronize your mobile data with, Penbase will handle integration swiftly and simply, cutting both implementation delays and costs.
